Supreme Court Case Comic Strip Activity

Supreme Court Case Comic Strip Activity
Product Description
I have been using this activity as long as I've been teaching, making many changes along the way. I think I've finally gotten to the point to where I really like it and the kids also seem to really enjoy it. The idea is pretty simple, each group is assigned one major Supreme Court cases from our history (you choose any cases you wan to focus on) and they create a very comprehensive poster that includes a title, storyboard (comic strip), summary, and analysis. They are required to give details such as amendments hit upon, precedent established, yet what student like the most is the ability to dig into the case and be creative. Almost all US History and Civics classes have workbooks where you can print out case info- or just have the kids do the research. 3-4 students per group work best, EACH have specific roles in directions so no one can slack! I usually give them three days to plan/create the poster then one day to go around taking notes (via gallery walk), but you could also have them do 5 minute presentations. I left it in .doc format in case you want to change point values. Check out my free products and other stuff :)
