This lesson has been designed to help students understand our justice system through researching and investigating "landmark court cases" in America. Students will also be able to define and identify specific amendments that were violated in many of the cases listed in this lesson. It is critical that students understand the Bill of Rights (Amendments 1-10) before completing this activity. So, there is a video link attached that reviews this information. You will also find additional lesson activities to go along with this 5-day interactive lesson. So, help your students use their creativity and research/presentation skills to the fullest. This lesson will allow your students the opportunity to venture beyond the realm of the classroom history book. Students will be intrigued to investigate and research real cases that have been tried in America's legal system. (Everything that you need is in this resource.) Internet and computer access is needed to successfully complete this 5-day lesson. Enjoy!
