It can be difficult to find the time to teach in detail about all that we wish to cover with our curriculum. This handout will give your students the opportunity to become familiar with an important Supreme Court case: Plessy v. Ferguson. The case highlights the issue of "separate but equal" public facilities. This can be a class assignment or homework.
Students will read a concise, one page, summary of the background of the case and the Court's ruling. After reading the summary, students will answer 8 questions about the reading.
