This lesson is about raising awareness of Precycling by examining cereal box packaging in terms of surface area and best buy. Students will calculate surface area of the packages to determine which is most efficient with its packaging, as well as unit cost of the cereal to determine the best buy. An answer key is provided.
This product consists of printable information sheets on PRECYCLING in general and PACKAGING specifically. Using efficient packaging saves money and reduces solid waste. After the classroom discussion on these topics, students can take the information home to enlighten others.
This lesson is perfect for Earth Day but is just as pertinent any day of the year.
