Product Description
This resource contains surface area and lateral surface area notes on the following 3-D figures: Rectangular Prism, Triangular Prism, Square Pyramid, Triangular Pyramid, Cylinder, Cone and Sphere.

There are practice problems, a quiz and a PowerPoint that follows the lesson. The lesson comes with lesson plans and a Surface Area Formula Chart. Students will be asked to write a plan to find surface area in some cases. Students will walk away from this lesson with a better understanding of how the formulas are derived. Prerequisite skills include: Pythagorean Theorem, finding areas, working with pi, an understanding of nets and how to find arc length and sector area.
