Surface Area and Volume Koosh Ball Game for Interactive Whiteboards
Product Description
Need a new, engaging activity to spice up your unit on volume and surface area of 3D solids? Bust out the interactive whiteboard, round up a koosh ball (or some other soft object), and let the fun begin.

This game features 12 questions involving volume and surface area, including:
- Volume of a cube
- Total and lateral surface area of a rectangular prism
- Lateral surface area of a triangular prism
- Volume of a cone
- Volume, total, and lateral surface area of a cylinder
- Volume, total, and lateral surface area of a pyramid
- Volume of a sphere

Print an answer sheet (included) for each student. Call on a student to toss a koosh ball at a target on the game board. On impact, the target will link to a question. Students sketch the figure, write the formula, substitute values, and solve the problem on their answer sheets. When you're ready to check answers, tap the "Check" button. The answer will appear and so will a "Back" button, which will return you to the game board. Targets that have already been hit will not reappear, so you'll never get duplicate questions. I like to collect answer sheets as an exit ticket at the end of class.

This game was created in PowerPoint 2010, but it has been packaged for CD, which *supposedly* means that it can be used with any version of PowerPoint (and, according to Microsoft, even computers that don't have PowerPoint installed). Since every computer I own has PowerPoint 2007 or later, I haven't been able to test this. (I can verify that it does work on both 2007 and 2010.) If you have trouble, shoot me an email, and I'll do what I can to make sure that this game works for you.

Also, if you like the idea of this game, but these particular questions don't quite suit your needs, try out my Koosh Ball Game Template to make your own! Your students will LOVE you!

By the way, this product carries a multiple license, so it can be shared with other teachers in your school district. All I ask is that you do not post it online. See my copyright page for more details on that. :)

Thanks so much for checking out my store, and I hope you and your students enjoy this game!
