This file contains all you need for a fun filled class period surface area and volume of geometric figures including prisms, cubes, cylinders, cones, pyramids, and spheres. It is a multiple step hands on activity in which students will determine the appropriate formulas provided a given shape either from memory or a formula chart. Then, they will calculate the surface area or volume. Once they have done the calculations, they will cut out the 12 shapes with the completed formulas and glue them to the correct solution on the template.
This can be done alone and taken as a grade, or used as a partner activity. Either way, it will serve as a great review for shape identification, correct formula selection and calculations.
I have included two versions of the activity:
The first is just the labeled shape and a line for the students to write in the correct formula.
The second contains the actual formula (possibly used for students that need modifications).
I have also posted a similar activity that covers perimeter, circumference, and area:
Or you can have both as I have posted a bundle and am selling it at a discount!
