Students will measure snack cakes and then calculate the surface area and volume of the snack.
The worksheets come in several versions.
*One version with lateral surface area and one without.
*There are also different options when it comes to drawings: students can free hand a drawing of the snack, glue in a picture of the snack or you can make copies of the worksheet with the picture already included.
It is important no matter what brand to double check current measurements. Student answers may vary from the provided key. Measurements for all keys were done in centimeters. Keep in mind measurements may vary.
Some packages of snack cakes have two have two separate snacks, the measurements and calculations presented are for one snack. The brownie was counted as one since the two halves are joined.
Looking to challenge some students have them use the hexagonal prism snacks or treat the cupcake snack as a truncated cone.
