This file contains all you need for a fun filled class period reviewing volume of geometric figures including prisms, cubes, and pyramids. It is a multiple step hands on activity in which students will determine the appropriate steps to determine surface area provided a given shape either from memory or a formula chart. Then, they will calculate the surface area. Once they have done the calculations, they will cut out the 9 shapes with the completed formulas and glue them to the correct solution on the template.
This can be done alone and taken as a grade, or used as a partner activity. Either way, it will serve as a great review for shape identification, correct formula selection and calculations.
I have included two versions of the activity:
The first is just the labeled shape and a line for the students to write in the correct formula.
The second contains the actual formula (possibly used for students that need modifications).
