These surveys are perfect for Special Education students of all grade levels and grade K-2! They are a great way to practice communication, socialization, reading repeat sentences/questions, scientific data collection, counting, number writing, graphing, and comparing.
Have your students practice tally marks and initiating the question, "Excuse me, (Name). Do you prefer Skittles or M&M's?" Then begin the activity by having them ask peers and teachers in the classroom and recording the data. If there is enough time and if you are able, have them ask available people around the school. Once they have their data tell them that, "it's time to compile our data". Go back to class and have them count their data tally marks, write the total number, draw & color in the bar graphs, and compare the data!
For non-verbal or profaund students, questions can be made into visual aids, PECS sentences, or recorded on a voice output device.
I hope you enjoy this product! It's my students' favorite activity. Enjoy!
