Survey Says! Polls That Allow Students to Make a Choice! extends the daily questions, by allowing students to poll fellow classmates on related topics. Over 100 surveys are included in this volume. Students basically walk around with a survey attached to a clipboard polling other students. Each person polled signs his or her name in the right column or the poller may use tally marks. We already knew students love to use clipboards to write around the room, but when we handed them this task to go along with the clipboard... they were beside themselves! Once a student has polled the class, he or she can then interpret the results by totaling the number of students in each column.
This activity is wonderful for reading, responding to print, questioning techniques, recording and interpreting information, and making a choice!
