This is a grade 7 survival guide procedural writing learning task that is a terrific way to end the year. Students get the opportunity to reflect on their learning experience over the course of the year and create a book (guide) to enlighten the next year's group on how to make it through the year. Sharing the survival guide of your current students with next year's students is an engaging way to break the ice with your new group in September! My kids have had as much fun with the arts and crafts part of this as they have with giving advice on how to keep your locker from being the stinkiest in the grade! This is adaptable for a variety of grades!
