Going deeper into nonfiction texts is essential to student mastery of common core standards. Want ways to integrate social studies and science content into your nonfiction instruction, while differentiating for the needs of all learners? Look no further than these differentiated close reading passages and comprehension questions about many important character traits. In this product, there are three nonfiction-reading passages based on Susan B. Anthony' character trait of FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE. If your classroom is like mine, there are readers all over the spectrum, yet it is vital that all students understand these important concepts. I've created each passage on three different reading levels to make differentiation much easier. I've leveled each passage with its Lexile reading level. There are also multiple choice comprehension questions that correspond with the passages that includes an answer key. There is also an extended response question and short answer questions. Lexile levels included: 570,640, and 790. Very suitable for third, fourth, and fifth grade!
