"Sweet 15" is a 1990 American film about a fourteen-year-old girl whose dreams of having a perfect quinceanera ( Sweet 15) are suddenly cut short when she realizes that her family is residing in the United States illegally. Although this movie is more than 25 years old, the issues of ethnicity and identity remain current. This is a great movie to teach about Latino/Hispanic traditions and to examine the effects of illegal immigration using the experience of one family. The length of the movie is 120 minutes.
