I've created this Valentine's Themed Center as a way to help your students practice sorting the different sentence types. I know some grades use the terms statements, questions, commands, and exclamations. While, other grades use declarative, interrogative, imperative, and exclamatory. I set up this center so that it can be used for any of those terms. Just print the center pieces that meets your classroom needs.
Included in this unit:
Center Set Up Directions Page for the Teacher
2 Different Color Title/Direction Pages for the Center
20 Colored Candy Heart Shaped Sentence Pieces (Cut out out for center sort).
20 Black and White Candy Heart Shaped Center Pieces (In case you want to print on colored paper instead of using colored ink).
4 blank candy hearts to create your own sentences or have your students create their on on their hearts (Both in color and black and white)
2 Printable Pockets Labeled to hold the candy heart sentences
16 (Color and B&W) printable pockets/labels to sort the sentences. Pockets are labeled as follows: declarative sentences, imperative sentences, interrogative sentences, exclamatory sentences, statements, commands, questions, exclamations. I know different grades use the different terms, so I included pockets for both sets of terms. Print whichever set meets your classroom needs.
