This product can be used all year long to practice important foundational skills with your students These activities are perfect to use as literacy centers. Your students can start the year playing rhyming and letter identification games and gradually work toward playing games that practice sounds, sight words, and CVC words. Or, use the variation to differentiate games to meet the needs of advanced or struggling learners. There are 7 games that all have an candy or sweets theme.

The centers included are:

Candy Time - Letter Dabbing Game - Practice letter identification, sounds, or sight words

Sweet Search - Pocket Chart Game - Practice letter identification, sounds, or sight words

Sorting Sweets - Practice matching upper case and lower case letters, associating letters with sounds

Sweet Syllables - Practice counting syllables

Sweet Shop Race - Board Game - Practice letters, sounds, or sight words

Sweet Treat Rhymes - Practice matching rhyming words

Cookies and Milk CVC center - Practice reading CVC words

A variety of recording sheets are available to meet the needs of your students and hold your students accountable for time spent in these centers.

Read common high-frequency words by sight (e.g., the, of, to, you, she, my, is, are, do, does).
Demonstrate basic knowledge of one-to-one letter-sound correspondences by producing the primary sound or many of the most frequent sounds for each consonant.
Isolate and pronounce the initial, medial vowel, and final sounds (phonemes) in three-phoneme (consonant-vowel-consonant, or CVC) words. (This does not include CVCs ending with /l/, /r/, or /x/.)
Count, pronounce, blend, and segment syllables in spoken words.
