Description
This activity is a sweet way to have your students practice and improve their syntax skills. This activity has 280 cards to give your students lots of opportunities. Each activity, except for the sentence unscramble, has a reference mat. This activity includes IS/ARE, WAS/WERE, HAS/HAVE, DO/DOES, SEEN/SAW, and putting sentences in the correct word order.
Activity 1: Place sorting mat in the middle of the table. Have students read the card and determine which word should fill in the blank. Once they have stated the correct response, have them place the card on the correct side of the mat.
Activity 2: Have students choose from the completed sentence card deck. The students must read the sentence and determine if the underlined word is being used correctly. If it is not, then the students must fix the sentence so it is correct.
