Use this one-page guiding sheet in your literacy stations to support a pair of students through retelling stories. It could be used with student-selected short stories, several paragraphs or pages from longer stories, or test-prep/fluence passages. It clearly lists the six steps of the activity & provides the checklist for the listening partner.
This activity was originally explained in "Understanding Reading Problems: Assessment & Instruction" (2011).
