There are 120 long vowel sound words. My class loves to play card games so I put the cards in an ocean bag or beach bucket. They play in a small group of 3-4 taking turns reading their cards. When a student picks the "game over" card, then the group counts their cards. The student with the most cards wins the game. I also included +1(take another card), +2(take 2 more), and -1(put one back) cards for fun.
You can also use these cards as a write the room activity. There is a worksheet included for the students to write the words that they read. My class loves anything that uses a clipboard.
I have included small yellow seahorses to play Where's Miss Seahorse? You place several cards in a pocket chart and hide Miss Seahorse behind one of them. The students take turns reading the words/guessing where Miss Seahorse is. The student who finds the seahorse gets to hide it next.
