Syllable work is an effective way to strengthen students' phonological awareness. Included in this bundle are three syllable counting activities. These actvitities work well at a literacy center, with your small guided reading groups and/or for intervention.
THIS BUNDLE CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING PRODUCTS:
This sort is flexible. Start with just comparing one and two syllable words. Then add the three to five syllable words as needed.
This activity can be adjusted to meet your students' needs. Pull just the one and two syllable words to start. Then add the three and four syllable word cards as needed. Students can either use a clothespin to mark the correct number of syllables or use multiple counters for count the syllables.
This activity is flexible. Pull just the one, two and three syllable game cards to start with. Then add the three to five syllable game cards as needed. Students can use one game mat with different counters or print one game mat per student playing. For this game, students pick a card, clap the syllables for the picture on the card and move their game piece that many number of spaces.
