This is a file folder game to help reinforce breaking words into syllables. Students will get to play a quick game of bingo while categorizing words into the amount of syllables each word has. Included in the game are word boxes to use as bingo markers, and 5 different bingo cards.
Print out and laminate each page (including the directions page)
Make the needed amount of copies of the word boxes page (There is one set of words per 5 bingo cards)
Carefully cut out the word boxes
Put the cards and word boxes in a bag or in a file folder (I like to put everything in a zippered plastic bag then staple that to the inside of the file folder so nothing gets lost)
This can also be used in whole group settings. Simply print out the needed number of Bingo cards and word pages, and call out the syllable type you are looking for. The first student to get bingo wins! Each bingo card has several duplicate boxes, you may choose to let students get a word on each when you call that specific box, or tell students they must choose which one of the two they will use, then be sure to go back and call that box again!
