Meet Suzy Syllable Strawberry! This sweet strawberry will teach your students how to count syllables in words. There are many fun and hands-on activities for your students to complete! All the activities are offered in both color AND black and white. There is also a snapshot page that provides you with a general and quick overview of this download.

Introduction letter where Suzy Syllable Strawberry introduces herself (an envelope template is also included ~ Suzy lives on Clapitout Court in Syllableville, USA!)
Suzy Syllable Strawberry printable puppet (teacher and student sizes included!)
Syllable Play Dough Poke- the students use balls of play dough and their pointer finger to poke the number of syllables in words
Strawberry Syllable Hop- the students use syllable mats and picture cards to hop the syllables in words. This is a student FAVORITE and it gets your class up and moving!!
Strawberry Syllable Tap- the students use a strawberry puppet to tap the number of syllables in words
Spin a Syllable- the students spin a strawberry number spinner and color in a picture that has that number of syllables
All the activities can be completed during whole group instruction and/or small group instruction, depending on the instructional needs of your class. Some of the syllable activities can also be utilized in a literacy station/center.
