Scoot—Number & place a card at each student seat, have students rotate around the room break each word into syllables.
Matching—Make two set play memory.
Sorting—Sort by open vs closed syllables.
Building—Make two sets, leave one set whole, cut the other set into cards, then cut each card in half at the syllable. Students must work to build the syllable back.
Swat—Make a set of cards, cut out each card, lay cards face up in middle of 3-5 students. Students take turns calling out a word, other plays SWAT the word SAFELY!
OPTION: Have students to write their matching words. Have them write a list of the sort they completed. Have them write the words they built.
