This activity is a copy, laminate and cut apart activity where children match syllables to make words. Copy each set of one syllable, two syllable, three syllable and four syllable words to different color paper so that kids can match the sectioned syllables to make complete words. Cut the sections apart and place into baggies based on paper color/syllable count. The kids put the syllables back together to make words. Although the game is created using real words, the students could also recreate nonsense words based on syllables. This supports syllable practice, reading words, spelling and vocabulary instruction.
