Syllable Sorting Mats | Owl Theme | Syllable Activity

This set includes sorting mats for up to 5 syllables PLUS generic student worksheets. This set makes a great literacy center, or can be used as a tool for individual student assessment.

Have students sort pictures or words by the number of syllables they have, and place them on the corresponding syllable mats. Optional student work pages are included.

Teacher Tip: Have students wear colorful 'clapping gloves' as they do the activity. Not only does it make the activity more fun, it helps to keep the noise level down!

Differentiate the activity by having students fill in the worksheet with either words or by drawing pictures, depending on their ability levels.
