I created this tic tac toe syllable game as one of 4 syllable centers for my students to rotate through as a way to review all the rules that we were learning. The 4 games have a cute bubble theme!
All of the games review the 10 syllable rules that I worked on in my third grade classroom. I included a syllable rules poster with this activity too!
This game is played with a partner. I had groups of 4 rotating through the centers so I had two copies at the center. I know that sometimes we have an odd number of students so I've included directions on how to adapt this and play with a group of 3 if needed.
This game is played like a tic tac toe game that we all know how to play. Students choose a card and need to write how to divide the word correctly into its' syllables. The other student checks the answer key to see if they are correct. If correct, the student gets to put their game piece on the board. If wrong, their turn is ended.
The directions, rule poster, tic tac toe board and answer key are all included! The only thing needed to play are game pieces and a mini white board with markers. If you don't have a mini whiteboard then paper and pencil can be used.
There are 27 cards total included in the set.
Save money and purchase the 4 syllable games at once including this game....see Syllable Bubbles Activity Pack for the set!
