Daily 5 word Work, Literacy Centers, Independent Set Work – you decide.
Give your students practice breaking words into syllables. Use in a variety of ways:
1.Place a sticker on the back to indicate the correct answer, then laminate. Students clip a clothespin onto their answer and turn the card over to check.
2.Students record their answers on a recording sheet and turn in for a grade.
3.Play a game of Scoot. Place a card on each desk. Students record their answer on a recording sheet and then move to the next desk when the teacher says “Scoot!” Go over answers together.
4.Students record syllable count AND write the word broken into syllables. bee-tle).
