Christmas Syllables How many do you hear?
This lesson will help your students with the following standards:
Orally produce single-syllable words by blending sounds (phonemes), including consonant blends.
Segment spoken single-syllable words into their complete sequence of individual sounds (phonemes).
Your students will love using this SMARTBoard activity to practice counting how many syllables each word has.
Also included, in the attachment tab, are student response sheets.
The following words are included in this SMARTBoard Lesson:
elf, gift, bow, sleigh, hat, shoe, tree, bell,
candle, Santa, snowman, holly, candy, present, chimney, coco, angel, stocking, reindeer, cookies,
gingerbread, decorate, ornament, caroling, nutcracker
The student will touch the picture to hear the picture's name.
Next he/she will count how many syllables he/she hears.
Then he/she will touch the number that represents the number of syllables.
If correct the student will see a green number appear and hear a positive sound.
If incorrect the student will see a red number appear and hear a flat non emotional sound.
