Knowing where to split syllables is an important skill for all students to know. Being able to split syllables is a skill often assessed on standardized tests. More importantly, being able to split syllables helps your student to read! Being able to differentiate syllables helps your students to break down a word in order to decode it. Seeing the syllables and looking for phonograms helps students apply the correct sounds in their decoding. This packet includes those harder 3, 4, and 5 syllable words that students need practice doing.
Included in this packet is a list of the Rules for Syllables. These are easily printed onto cardstock for easy student reference. Additionally, you get 10 practice pages along with answer keys that provide explanations for determining the correct answer. Each page has 10 problems for easy grading.
