This is a fun classroom scavenger hunt activity that will help students read multi-syllabic words and identify the number of syllables in each word. Word cards are hidden around the classroom. Students are given a recording sheet and must find as many words as they can within a predetermined amount of time. They will sort and write the words according to the number of syllables each word has. Students will then draw lines to show where the syllables should be divided. Finally, students will create a bar graph to analyze the words they found.
