Syllables consists of two activities to review syllables in kindergarten or 1st Grade.
• Syllables with Friends- Using classmates’ names, children draw a picture of a friend who has one syllable, two syllables, three syllables, or four syllables in their names in the correct box. To differentiate, have children write their friends’ names. Also included is a template for you to write in numbers for the syllables or have children choose 4 friends and write in the correct number before drawing pictures and labeling. What a fun way to maintain skills!
• Shape Syllable Sort- Review syllables and the names of shapes with this activity. Children cut out the shapes, say the name of the shapes, decide how many syllables, and then glue shapes into the correct column.
