Product Description
The student will be introduced to symbolic portraits by viewing the works of artist Guiseppe Arcimboldo. We will create a self-portrait in the style of Arcimboldo, by selecting an object or theme that represents us. We will use the Elements of Art and Principles of Design. These include: line, shape, texture, space, color, balance, movement, unity, variety pattern, contrast and emphasis. We will do an exercise in the different kinds of shading techniques there are for colored pencils. We will use colored pencils as our final medium to create our portraits. There is a rubric at the end for them to fill out.
