Symmetry Draw & Write Rainforest Life
Teaching the children about Symmetry can sometimes be difficult. Using pictures of things they know can help. Just print and go.
How we use these:
First, we do a modeling lesson about symmetry. Next, a lesson on how to finish the drawing and write a sentence. Finally, we put these into our centers. After they finish all of them, we have them make a cover and staple them together. They have a Rainforest booklet that they half illustrated and wrote to take home and read to their parents.
Ha, Ha, half illustrated!
Enjoy the fun creations the children come up with. This by far is one our favorite activities. Not only does it teach about symmetry ,but it is also a great picture prompt story starter for creative writing or nonfiction writing. All they need to do is let their imagination go wild!
Symmetry pictures included are:
strawberry poison dart frog
We have also included some finish the picture worksheets that are not symmetry lessons, but the kids love to finish the pictures and write a story about them. These pictures include:
and a toucan
