Students work with a partner to complete this activity.
They determine how many lines of symmetry are on the four shapes. Then they cut the shapes out and prove if they are correct or not.
Finally, students chose a shape and place one of its corners on the left dark dot. Then they have to determine how to get it to the right dark dot by practicing Rotating, Translating, and Reflecting their shape over the center line. Many other variations to this activity can be done as well (i.e. have one student give directions on how to move the shape, and the other student has to follow those directions).
