M04.C-G.1.1.3 Recognize a line of symmetry for a two dimensional figure as a line across the figure such that the figure can be folded along the line into mirroring parts. Identify line-symmetric figures and draw lines of symmetry (up to two lines of symmetry).
Students will visit website to choose 2 flags from each country- one that is symmetrical and one that is asymmetrical. Directions with an * are for extension students. I suggest allowing students to work in pairs and use this as an activity AFTER you have already taught symmetry.
