Description
This unit is packed with lessons, centers, printables and lots of easy to make hands-on activities all about symmetry. Simply add simple math manipulatives, such as pattern blocks, (or materials from around your house including buttons, beads and toothpicks!) and you will have ready to use activities all about symmetry.

- Let's Build Using Symmetry -> real life pictures of symmetrical structures from around the world plus a recording sheet to build your own
- Exploring Symmetry with Pattern Blocks -> use pattern blocks to create symmetrical pictures (vertical and horizontal plus blank for students to challenge each other)
- Hole Punch Symmetry -> creating symmetrical pictures using a hole punch
- Symmetry Using a Grid -> complete the symmetrical pictures using coloured square tiles (variety plus plank for students to challenge each other)
- Complete the Picture -> draw the other half of the picture to show how it is symmetrical
- Symmetrical Butterflies Using Loose Parts -> add loose parts (buttons, beads, pipe cleaners, even play dough) and design a symmetrical butterfly
- Symmetrical Kites -> design your own symmetrical kite
