This includes one synonym and one antonym page. There are many ways to use this worksheet and it's also very easy to differentiate. I use these worksheets two different ways, usually as a quick center.
#1: I write the words I want them to explore under Word, then the students use a thesaurus and other resources to complete the rest.
#2: Using index cards, I write down a word I want the students to expand on in one color marker (Word) and three synonyms or antonyms in a different color. The students sort through them and record their answers on the worksheet. It is an easy way to differentiate the assignment.
Once students are more comfortable with figurative language, the sentence they have to write using a synonym/antonym changes to writing a simile or metaphor using a synonym or antonym.
