Did someone say, "Bingo?!"
This Synonym Bingo Game makes teaching/reviewing synonyms FUN for students! This is a great game to review synonyms with your students. There are 30 different bingo cards and a teacher call card too. Your students will love playing this game!
What’s unique about this Bingo game, is that the teacher calls out a word and students have to find the matching synonym on their Bingo board. But there's another way to play this game too! Print the teacher page with the synonyms. Have students use a thesaurus to find synonyms for the listed words. Write down one or two words under each master word on your call sheet and on the board or chart paper for students to see. This means that the students have created the synonyms for the game. Students are now challenged to listen for, and think about synonyms!
You can use Synonym Bingo as a whole-class activity, in small group, or as a literacy center. Synonym Bingo makes a great activity to have on hand for a sub also!
