Product Description
Yay! Let’s play Bingo! This Synonym Bingo Bundle makes teaching/reviewing synonyms FUN for students! What’s unique about this Bingo set, is that the teacher calls out a word and students have to find the matching synonym on their Bingo board….so it’s not a traditional “say and cover” Bingo. Students are really challenged to listen for, and think about synonyms!

You can use Synonym Bingo as a whole-class activity or as a small group literacy center. If you have a cluster of students in your class who need more of a review, you can use levels one or two. If you have advanced students in your class, you can use level three. This is a great way to introduce students to new vocabulary as well!

Here are sample words from each Synonym Bingo Level (to help you find the level right for your students):

Synonym Bingo Level One:
near-close
see-look
present-gift
small-tiny
rest-relax

Synonym Bingo Level Two:
elegant-stylish
disorder-chaos
explore-probe
force-might
participate-partake

Synonym Bingo Level Three:
submit-yield
excess-surplus
pliable-malleable
ridicule-taunt
eliminate-purge

Included in the file for each level:

-18 different Synonym Bingo Cards – You can photocopy a second set if you want to play as a whole-class activity.

-45 synonym calling cards –Cut the cards apart and use them to call out a synonym to the word that students need to cover on their Bingo board.

-A synonym calling card list – You can call out synonyms for the students to cover on their Bingo board if you don’t want to use the calling cards. Just highlight, circle or cross off a word once it has been called out.

-Two blank Synonym Bingo templates – These are great if you want students to fill in their own synonyms from a particular lesson you are teaching, or from hunting through a text for words/synonyms prior to playing Bingo.

-One blank set of calling cards – If you have students use synonyms from a lesson, these calling cards can quickly be filled in to play.

Synonym Bingo makes a great activity to have on hand for a sub too! Also, If you’re looking for more synonym activities, check out my new Synonym Tile Cards in my TpT store.
