Looking for a creative way to teach synonym pairs to your upper elementary students who have gone beyond the basics? This resource features 25 synonym pairs using adorable wizard characters!
Your student is presented with a target word in the context of a sentence, then asked to select a synonymous vocabulary word from a field of 4, for the word that's underlined. Later in the lesson, your student has an opportunity to express the synonym learned, without given context. AND, he/she also is given a space on the last page of the lesson to use each word learned in a sentence (blank space for typing).
This lesson was designed to be displayed on a teletherapy platform, however, it's digital format allows it to be displayed beautifully on an iPad, Chromebook, Smart Board or laptop. You can use dry erase markers or chalk markers right on the screen! Or, simply have your student point to the answer indicated rather than circle.
To use on a tablet, simply download to your cloud system (i.e., Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.). Then, make sure you have that cloud system app on your tablet! In order to annotate your choices, add a pdf annotation app to your iPad (i.e., Notability).
