One of the first mini lessons I teach my 9th grade scholars at the beginning of the academic year before I introduce the first set of 5000 SAT Vocabulary Every College-Bound Student Should Know is the Synonyms and Antonyms mini lesson.
Granted, this is a skill my scholars should have acquired well before they have entered my grade level. Therefore, I have included this mini lesson in my battery of diagnostics administered to start the semester.
I recommend you download the Synonym & Antonym power point presentation in conjunction with this mini lesson in order to provide the details of the Cornell Notes for your scholars. However, a snapshot of the notes is provided in the Answer Key page of this document.
