One of the ways for children to step up in their literacy is to expand their vocabulary. Sometimes they struggle to come up with another word besides, 'big' or 'tall'. Synonym Spurs is designed with activities to describe things that fall in these 5 categories: Nature, Animals, Buildings, Plants and Objects. So the child learns these vocabulary words in their immediate environment within context. There are lots of fun activities with illustrations to guide the child to learn these new words. For example, a humongous pumpkin, a giant scarecrow, a colossal pumpkin patch; fun activities to work on the synonyms of 'huge'. You can use this to increase oral and written vocabulary.
