✬✯Synonym Picture-Word Card Directions for Use:
1. Separate the picture cards and word cards into two piles. Students can match the synonym word cards first and then find the matching picture. Use as a game or cut/ paste activity.
2. Use as a Discrete Trial program. To do so, show the child one picture card. For example, hold up the picture of “Stirring/ Mixing.” Place five cards in front of the student (two with the correct synonyms, “Mix” and “Stir”) and three other cards. Hold up the picture and tell the student, “Find the same” or “Find the synonyms.”
✬✯Antonym Picture-Word Card Directions for Use:
1. Students can match the antonyms as a game or cut/ paste activity.
2. Use as a Discrete Trial program. To do so, show the child one card. For example, hold up, “Day.” Place five cards in front of the student (one with the correct antonym, “Night”) and four other cards. Hold up “Day” and tell the student, “Find the opposite” or “Find the antonym.”
