Leave sentence pairs together and post around the classroom. Students can then walk around the classroom and determine if word pairs are synonyms or antonyms. They can then record on their recording sheet, along with an explanation of how they know.
2. Synonym/Antonym Scavenger Hunt:
Cut each page in half along the dotted line, and post numerically around the classroom. There are 24 sentences.
- Provide each student with a recording sheet, which lists number pairs.
- Students will walk around the classroom and read the sentence pairs, trying to determine whether they are synonyms or antonyms. Students will record the relationship type on their recording sheet.
- Vocabulary flash cards have been provided to complete the word pairings together as a class, or in small groups.
