There are 30 Synonym pairs, and 30 Antonym pairs as well as one homework activity for synonyms and one for antonyms.
Some of my favorite ways include:
1. The therapist can pass the cards out to the students in the group. The therapist will then read a sentence provided in the activity, ex: “The boy had to get ready for school fast today. Who has another word I can use for ‘fast’”? The student who has “quick” would respond and change the sentence to fit the new word. Then that student would receive a pretend dollar bill. Can also use this the same way for the antonym cards.
2.This could be used as a matching game as well. Simply use the matches and flip them over for your students to find. Earn a dollar for each match.
3.You can also use the cards and play a game similar to “Go Fish”. A student can ask for someone to find the synonym or antonym to a picture card they have. Earn a dollar for each match.
