For many students, syntax (sentence structure) is scary and confusing! Perhaps because it involves grammar which can leave some students shaking in their seats. As teachers, if we break it down for them, they will actually find that it is an easy device to discuss. I use this PowerPoint, along with the guided notes (sold separately), as an introduction into syntax for my AP Literature students. It is important that my students understand how syntax can contribute to a text, so I do the introduction and then we spend two more days on it. I have another product that features two lessons and a reflection concerning syntax (sold separately). Please check them out!
