This packet provides a fun way for students to learn about systems while taking notes using a brochure. Two different versions are included: a version with full notes and spaces for student input, and a brochure template for students to take full notes. A worksheet on systems is also included. I used this as a supplement to my science notebooking when I found my students looking for something a bit different from everyday discussion and notes!
After students complete their brochures it‘s time to put their knowledge to the test on the included “Our System” printable . Students will work in pairs to create a scientific diagram of a system of their choice. Examples of systems they can choose are a TV, refrigerator, a car and many more. Drawings must be as realistic as possible with neat and clear labeling. Next, students will illustrate 3 subsystems within their chosen system. Lastly, they will describe their system and how the 3 subsystems all work together to make the whole system work. Hope you and your students enjoy!
***Reminder: the brochure is 2 pages and will need to be combined to one front and back copy.
