Product Description
This Systems of Linear Equations Card Sort tests student knowledge on matching verbal descriptions of systems of linear equations with their respective graphs, equations, and interpretation of solutions.

Within the Card Sort Activity there are 4 categories of cards to match:
1) Verbal Description
2) Equations
3) Graph
4) Interpreting Solutions

Students then follow up the activity with a self-reflection of their learning and identify how systems of linear equations are used in the real world.

There are 8 unique sets of matches, as well as extra cards with incorrect answers so that students must think through each choice! Students work to sort and group the cards. A student recording sheet and answer key is provided for easy grading!

Differentiation: The Card Sort Activity is differentiated by use of heterogeneous groups with assigned roles. Directions to differentiate the groups are in the lesson plan!

Common Core Standards:
CCSS.MATH.HSA.REI.D.6 Solve systems of linear equations exactly and approximately (e.g. with graphs), focusing on pairs of linear equations in two variables. CCSS.MATH.HSA.CED.A.3 Represent constraints by equations or inequalities, and by systems of equations and/or inequalities, and interpret solutions as viable or nonviable options in a modeling context.
