Graphing Systems of Inequalities can be time consuming and messy to grade. For this reason I made this set of matching Task Cards so that students can match the graphs to the correct system of inequalities.
Critical thinking skills are needed to match up the graph with the set of inequalities by knowing how to locate the correct boundary lines using slopes and y-intercepts and determine solid versus dashed boundary lines and how to determine which section needs to be shaded. Both sets of Task Cards (graphs and inequalities) can be given to students all at once and let them use their problem solving skills to match them up. Another option I have used lately is to hand out the graph cards first and have them write out the system of inequalities it represents on a sheet of paper. When they are done or most of the students are done I then hand out the Inequality Task Cards and they can easily check their work and find any errors they may have made writing the correct system to match the graph. I like this option because provides the opportunity to really analyze the graphs to come up with the correct system of inequalities rather than rely too much on guessing.
This product contains 28 Task Cards of Inequality Graphs and 28 Task Cards of Inequalities. Print the cards on card stock and laminate them to make them last longer and stay clean. The graphs are beautiful in color but they will print well in gray scale (black and white, not advised).
