Often students are asked to participate in fundraising to support their school and/or organizations, but how do those organizations set goals for selling? In this activity, students will use their knowledge of graphing systems of inequalities (or linear programming) to propose fundraising goals. The scenario the students work through is a real life scenario that occurred in my school. In the introduction, students brainstorm possible solutions to this problem, then the activity walks them through a process to find solutions. The extension activity gives the student the opportunity to investigate fundraisers occurring in their own school/community and put together a proposal for a fundraising goal.
